A family story, a commitment to the future

The Cellulopack adventure began in 2012 with a meeting around a shared vision. Jean-Paul MARI and his son-in-law, Olivier MAS, discussed an emerging technology: high-density molded pulp, a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to single-use plastic packaging. At the time, this technology was underdeveloped in France, but it offered enormous potential to address environmental challenges and meet businesses' needs for recyclable and compostable packaging solutions.

Captivated by the idea, Olivier MAS shared Jean-Paul's deep conviction that this technology represented the future of eco-friendly packaging in France and Europe. Together, they decided to combine their skills to bring this vision to life.

2013: The Birth of Cellulopack

Convinced of the potential of molded pulp, Jean-Paul and Olivier founded Cellulopack in 2013. To bring this ambitious project to life, they invested in their first two production machines and welcomed two new partners:

  • Jean-Yves Chomel, an expert in research and development,
  • Audrey Mas, in charge of business development.

This is how the story of Cellulopack began.

2016: A Major Innovation

In 2016, after years of research and development, Cellulopack filed a patent for an innovative range of molded pulp trays, designed as an alternative to plastic trays used in central kitchens and collective catering. This range, named RestOKompost, offers several formats and is certified 100% compostable (EN 13432).

2017-2022: Steady Revenue Growth

During this period, Cellulopack forged numerous strategic business partnerships while experiencing steady growth in its revenue, with an annual increase of over 20%.

Key projects included:

  • Biotop trichogram capsules,
  • Egg cups for D’aucy,
  • Cushioning for Advent calendars, wines, and spirits,
  • Trays for mass retail (GMS).

These accomplishments highlight Cellulopack's ability to meet the specific needs of its clients and innovate for various sectors.

2023: A Second Site to Meet Demand

In 2023, to meet the needs of its clients and the rapid growth of the sector, Cellulopack opened a second production site in Campsas, just a few kilometers from its original location. This new factory, dedicated to food packaging, marks a key step in the company’s ambition: to become a leading player in molded pulp packaging, both in France and Europe.
